2011 MQHA Clinic - Post Event Report by Shelley Minaudier

The MQHA Bruce Vickery Clinic was a total Success for 2011!!

The 12 participants were; Judy Wood, Cindy Routledge, Marilyn Lindenschmidt, Cassandra Lepp, Stephanie Lepp, Maggie Cusson, Shelley Kokorudz, Karla Guyn, Maureen Epp, Andrea Robertson, Jocelyn Kish and Gerry Andressen.
On Friday, the 12 riders were split into 3 groups and worked tackling walk-overs, trot-overs and lope-overs for trail as well as side-passing and back-throughs.
On Saturday, the day consisted of 45 minute lessons with 2 riders per session and each pair rode twice. They worked on trail obstacles, the box, the serpentine and getting lift over the logs. As well a few worked on flying lead changes and got some very nice results!
On Sunday, the riders were split into 2 groups of 6 for morning and afternoon sessions. They worked on showmanship and horsemanship to finish off the weekend.

By special request, Bruce gave a trail talk and demonstration riding Makes Good Cents aka Rodney, the horse with which he won 7th in Junior Trail at the 2010 AQHA World Championship Show. At noon on Saturday, Bruce thrilled us all with the more finished look of a Champion Level trail Horse!

Everyone enjoyed learning from Bruce as he was always encouraging and positive!
